Sienna

Rescued this 4-5 year old 27 lb blue merle female in Spring 2001 from a south Texas sheltie rescue group that recently ceased operation.  She was the first adoptee chosen, primarily because she was in need of medical attention.  No real information on her background exists, though someone had her surgically altered, preventing her from barking, so she can only cough.  This unnecessary surgery also left her with some difficulty when drinking water.  In addition, she suffers from skin allergies and is susceptible to kidney malfunction so she must be monitored regularly.  When rescued, she was living outdoors with goats, and has picked up some unusual personality characteristics from the experience, including an impressive 2+ foot vertical leap when happy She has continued to be the alpha-leader of the bunch and is always vigilant and protective of all around her.
