Sarah

Golden sable/white 7 year old female from Austin cam into the program in the winter of 2003; she was fed all her life on candy and pastries; in fact, the previous owner had named her Sara Lee because that's what this person fed her. When rescued in Austin, she was grossly overweight. We had her tested for diabetes and Cushings; she is negative and just needs continued good diet and exercise. Her collar had never been changed, and it became embedded in her neck as she grew obese on the junk food. She had a cough from the obesity and narrowed trachea, but that is easing with medication and weight-loss program. Her doctor has increased her thyroid medication, and Sarah now has increased energy, great coat, and improved skin along with needed weight loss in foster care. She is totally cute; very sweet and trusting, gratefully following everyone around; gets along with other dogs fine and loves to join in Sheltie herding games. She is a princess, with gentle kisses; warm, adoring eyes; and happy disposition. Sarah loves everyone, but she especially "swoons" when anyone sweet talks her while she cuddles. She came to the Houston Highland Games and was a huge hit with her new mom who drove from San Antonio to meet her and has now taken her to be loved in her forever home.
