Sampson

This handsome 2 year old, Sampson (formerly 'Spunky'), came into the program in the summer 2003 into Christ-Yoder Animal Shelter in Austin along with Taffy who has also been adopted. They called us immediately, relinquishing the dogs to our program. Samson was our first Sheltie flown in by our "Flying Shelties" program. Air Traffic controllers were on task and happy to guide our little blessing into Houston. Both Samson and our volunteer pilot, Douglas, made the trip without incident, and Samson landed at the airport grinning from ear to ear because he knew he was safe at last. Samson is a beautiful sable white, though he came into the shelter dirty and covered in fleas. His foster mom found three wounds on him that appear to be cigar burns which are healing without infection now. Yet, for all he's been through, once Samson trusts his human, he comes in to snuggle, lays his head on your chest, and gazes with warm, adoring eyes. In his foster home, he has proven to be very sweet and loving; adores being brushed; loves to play in the back yard. Sampson has been adopted by a family who adore him and are teaching him the adventures of long hikes and the joy of being a cherished Sheltie.
