Best Of Austin, TX

Founded in 1839, Named for Stephen F. Austin, the "Father of Texas", Nicknamed The City of the Violet Crown (from an O Henry Short Story), The Live Music Capital of the World, and Waterloo (name of original settlement that became Austin).  Located in the Central Texas Hill Country at a Longitude of 97°75'W and Latitude: 30°30'N with an average elevation: 597 feet, located a mere 1347 miles from Washington D.C., 230 from Mexico (south), 192 from Dallas (north), 162 from Houston (southeast) and 79 from San Antonio (south).  Is that really all there is to describe it?  Well, hardly ... so the best way to start is by visiting some of the many unique things the city has to offer.  The following compilation of places, for one reason or the other, seemed noteworthy to me during my stay here.  Though you may not agree with them all, I hope you enjoy them as much as I have ...
